This week-long event is packed with activities that not only bring baseball enthusiasts together but also give back to those in need. With spring training just around the corner and pitchers and catchers set to report in Clearwater, Florida, the energy is palpable.
Among those participating in this fantastic initiative are pitcher Tanner Banks, infielder Otto Kemp, and outfielder Weston Wilson, alongside Phillies manager Rob Thomson. Fans will also be delighted to see special appearances from notable figures such as Mickey Morandini and Milt Thompson, who were part of the 1993 National League championship team, as well as Dickie Noles, a champion from the 1980 World Series, and the ever-popular Phillie Phanatic.

Monday, January 19 – MLK Day of Service
- 9:00 a.m. – Temple University Pearson-McGonigle Hall, 1800 N Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19121
As we honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day, volunteers from the Phillies and IBX will come together at the Global Citizen event to assemble essential backpacks and hygiene kits for individuals facing homelessness. This year marks the 31st annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service, which holds the distinction of being the oldest and largest King Day celebration in the nation.
- 11:00 a.m. – Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia Phillies to Host Clinic for Nike RBI Baseball Players Banks, Kemp, Wilson, and Thomson are excited to give back by hosting a baseball clinic alongside Noles, Thompson, and former Phillies player Domonic Brown, along with the Youth Baseball & Softball Development Staff. They will work with various Nike RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) youth teams, fostering a love for the game in the next generation.
Tuesday, January 20
- 4:30 p.m. Dinner served – St. Francis Inn, 2441 Kensington Ave, Philadelphia (entrance on adjacent East Hagert Street)
Phillies to Serve Meals at St. Francis Inn
The group, including Banks, Kemp, Wilson, and Thomson, will help serve warm meals at St. Francis Inn, an organization that has been providing sit-down meals to those in need since 1979. It’s a wonderful opportunity for them to directly impact the lives of families and individuals struggling in Philadelphia.
Wednesday, January 21
- 10:00 a.m. – John B. Kelly School, 5116 Pulaski Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19144
Players will participate in a surprise assembly for the Phanatic About Reading program presented by Xfinity. This event will spotlight one of the top-performing schools within the program, where over 300 students and teachers will engage in an interactive reading experience with the Phanatic, alongside Thomson, Banks, Kemp, and Wilson. They'll read and perform scenes from "The Phillie Phanatic’s London Adventure," aiming to inspire students from Pre-K to 8th grade to read daily and enhance their literacy skills. This incentive-based program has already attracted participation from more than 147,000 students!
Thursday, January 22

The Phillies will venture to Lehigh Valley for the Winter Caravan, hosted by IronPigs Charities. This fan-centric event will include dinner, a Q&A session featuring Manager Thomson and General Manager Preston Mattingly, and opportunities to bid on signed memorabilia.
