Bold claim: Vin Diesel says he crafted a role specifically for Cristiano Ronaldo in the next Fast & Furious installment, hinting at a high-profile cameo in what fans hope will be the franchise’s thrilling finale.
Is Ronaldo poised to join the Fast family? It’s a possibility that has sparked excitement. Diesel, a lead actor and producer of the beloved car-verse, teased Ronaldo’s involvement on Instagram Friday, posting a photo of the two giving thumbs up while revealing, in his words, that he has “written a role for him.”
“Everyone asked whether he would fit into the Fast mythology… I gotta tell you he is a real one,” Diesel captioned the image. “We wrote a role for him.”
THR reached out to both Diesel’s and Ronaldo’s teams for comment, but responses had not come in by publication time.
Official confirmation of Ronaldo’s appearance in Fast & Furious 11 remains pending. Diesel recently suggested that Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner could reappear in the finale. At Fuel Fest in June, he disclosed that the movie is planned for an April 2027 release, a date he says Universal Studios approved “under three conditions.”
The first condition: the franchise should return to Los Angeles and recapture the street-racing and car-culture atmosphere that defined the series. The second: a reunion of Diesel’s Dom Toretto and Walker’s Brian O’Conner. The third: bringing the two characters back together on screen.
Walker’s death in a car accident on November 30, 2013 during production of Fast & Furious 7 left the series with an emotional gap. Not all of Walker’s scenes were completed, but his character remained in the film’s final moments thanks to CGI, visual effects work, and the help of his brothers, Cody and Caleb Walker. The ending shows Dom and Brian sharing a last ride together before diverging.
VFX supervisor Joe Letteri described the careful process behind that farewell scene to THR, emphasizing the goal of honoring Paul’s memory while letting fans focus on his performance rather than the techniques used to recreate him. The team aimed to deliver a poignant goodbye that felt earned and respectful for the audience.
As anticipation builds, fans and critics alike will be watching closely to see how the franchise balances nostalgia, new star power, and the pedal-to-the-metal energy that has kept Fast & Furious at the forefront of action cinema.
